Did you know that the first defense for occupants in case of a house fire, is a working smoke detector?
An alarming fact is, 80 percent of child fire fatalities occur in homes without working smoke detectors.
Changing the batteries in smoke alarms at least once per year, and testing the detectors monthly, is the best way to reduce these tragic deaths.
Families are also encouraged to develop and practice escape routes, including knowing two ways out of every room, and to make sure every member of the family understand how to get out of the home in case of fire.
If a citizen in our district does not have a working smoke detector, or if the detector they have is either damaged or out of date, we will replace the detector free of charge to the homeowner.

Arrangements will be made for personnel from our station to come to your residence to install a smoke detector.
